Forecasting the future of supply chain
technology has more to do with events that drive change, than philosophizing on
vaporware. The technology of supply
chain's future is already here. But how
will it get implemented? Write Comment (1 comments) |

This past week I had the pleasure of visiting
with a supply chain leader and CEO of VICS (Voluntary Inter-industry Commerce
Solutions), Joe Andraski. I asked Mr.
Andraski, "What is the most game changing new supply chain technology on the
market today?" His reply may
potentially take 25% of the tractor trailers off the road. Imagine the impact that will have on the
environment, oil consumption, road safety and maintenance, not to mention cost
efficiencies. The new program and collaborative
platform is called Empty Miles, and
has been put together by VICS, GS1 US and Canada. Write Comment (0 comments) |

Last week a Fortune article by Editor Shawn
Tully, suggested an American VAT is the inevitable fix to the deficit. Article here. He quotes White House budget chief Peter
Orszag, who confirmed that it is seriously considered by policy makers. What this means to you, and any business that
manufactures, distributes, or sells a product in the United States; new compliance to
complex electronic supply chain documents.
The VAT electronic documents are called many things internationally but
most commonly referred to as e-Invoices.
The GTBP interviewed industry expert, Jason Bruce Jones, VP of Crossgate
Inc, to find out what might be in store and how painful implementation will be
for businesses. Write Comment (0 comments) |
